An article as reported by The Province has stated that the reason for the recently launched “Play Now ” website run by the BCLC (British Colombian Lottery Corporation) was partly due to the gaming server not able to handle the player load, but probably more damaging is that sensitive information about players was being exposed to other players on the network.
The website is offline for the time being due to the security breach.
The BC Lottery Corp. stated that the: “BCLC servers experienced load issues causing what is technically referred to as a ‘data crossover.’”
But although there was a breach the players themselves seemed supportive and very much appreciative of how well the newly launched online casino had identified the problem, and that the most common question amongst all of them was: “how quickly would the site be back up and running” said Mike Graydon, president of the BCLC.
