Spin the Wheel – The game of Online Roulette
Roulette is a game that can trace its roots hundreds of years, and in essence has not changed at all in that time.
Introduction to Roulette
Players sit around a large wheel, which has 36 numbered slots on it. The numbers alternate between red and black, and run from 1 up to 36 on the wheel. Depending on the variant you play, there are also two green numbers 0 and 00 in American roulette or one green number 0 in European roulette.
The croupier, or software, will spin the wheel at which time a white ball will be released which in turn goes round and round the wheel until it falls into one of the slots.
A player wins according to where they bet the ball would land.
The players place their bets on a large diagram of the numbers, located to one side of the wheel, laid out in three columns, with all the numbers represented, plus the 0 and 0 and 00, depending on which version of roulette is being played.
Types of Betting
A player can bet a wagered amount in the following fashions:
- straight up on any number
- between any number
- at the corners between four numbers
- at the side to cover six numbers
- on a row to cover three numbers
- or on a column to cover 9 numbers
How you Win at Roullete
The amount of money won depends on the version of roulette being played. In
- If you bet one chip you will win 36 times the chips denomination, if you bet straight up on the number.
- If you split it sideways with another number, you’ll win 18 times the wagered amount. If you put in between 4 corners, 9.
- If he puts it on the side, it’s 12 times the wagered amount if along one row, 6 times the wagered amount if along two rows.
- If it’s a column bet, the player only wins 3 times the wagered amount, and
- If it’s a bet on the colours – that either a red or a black number will turn up, the win is for 2 times the wagered amount.
- If the ball lands in a green, all bets are lost, unless the individual bet on a green.
The European Syle version of the game uses a smaller wheel so the win percentages are smaller.
